Description

80CrV2 steel is a high carbon tool steel with excellent toughness. It has an easier heat treatment process and is great for beginners as it provides the essential qualities of a 1080-series steel with all the perks of a high Chrome steel, thus It is also known as 1080+. 80Crv2 can be used for a standalone steel for blades or used for producing Damascus steel and It is suitable for swords and tomahawks, as well as for kitchen knives, folders and EDCs.

Since 80CrV2 is a High Carbon steel, it will rust if not properly taken care of. The finished blades should be cleaned and oiled after use to avoid corrosion.

Suggested Heat Treatment:

Heat to 840 – 880C Hold for 5 minutes

Oil Quench (Suggested oil is Rye 32)

Temper for two hours at 200C for 60HRc

Temper for two hours at 250C for 57HRc

Supplied in 700mm Lengths
